Satara, Jan 3: OBC leader professor Laxman Hake has turned his sharp criticism towards the BJP, raising eyebrows with his scathing remarks on the party’s strategies and leadership. Known for taking jabs at the Mahavikas Aghadi, Sharad Pawar, and Ajit Pawar in the past, Hake has now targeted the BJP over its handling of candidates and internal dynamics.
Speaking to the media in Satara, Hake said, “The BJP needs to rethink its declaration—it should become a Congress-NCP-aligned BJP. The party’s DNA is no longer visible within. Without importing candidates from other parties, victory is impossible, which has led to BJP being known as a fearful party.”

He also commented on the candidates elected unopposed in municipal elections, saying, “Those who won unopposed should have their work and character thoroughly checked. The BJP claims OBC representation is its DNA—then where is it?”
Hake did not spare Ajit Pawar and Mohol either. “Mohol and Ajit Pawar are like two sides of the same coin! They invoke the names of social reformers like Phule, Shahu, and Ambedkar while practicing guest politics. Ajit Pawar’s policies mirror his uncle’s strategies—they engage in gangster-like politics. Pawars’ integrity is not in their words but in their deeds,” Hake alleged.
He further accused the Pawar family of acting together only when electoral benefits arise. “Sharad Pawar and Ajit Pawar have always acted as one. When it comes to winning votes or gaining advantages, the family unites. Give a Maratha Kunbi ticket on one side, and the other side follows suit. Even OBC seats are handed over as per convenience,” Hake added.
With these statements, Hake’s criticism has sparked widespread debate over the BJP’s internal functioning and candidate selection strategy ahead of upcoming elections.
