Mangaluru: Autorickshaw theft suspect arrested, vehicle recovered

Mangaluru, Dec 29: Ullal police have arrested a suspect in connection with the theft of an autorickshaw that had been parked on Bhagavathi Road in Chota Mangaluru.

The arrested man has been identified as Muhammad Shazil (29), a resident of Akkarekere.

Police have recovered the stolen autorickshaw from his possession.

According to the complaint, Narendra Kumar, a resident of Chota Mangaluru, had parked his auto outside his house compound on Bhagavathi Road on the night of December 13. “I discovered the vehicle missing the following morning,” he told police, who immediately registered a complaint.

A case was officially filed on December 19. Following an investigation, officers successfully traced and apprehended the accused, bringing the stolen vehicle back into police custody.
