Mangaluru: Aloysian Games 2026 scheduled on January 9 and 10; Aloysian Run on January 18

Mangaluru, Dec 28: St Aloysius (Deemed to be University), Mangaluru, will host the Aloysian Games 2026, South India’s premier inter-school and inter-collegiate sports event, on January 9 and 10, 2026, at its university campus. The event is being organised under the theme “Building Bonds Through Games” and is expected to witness large participation from schools and colleges across the region.

The Aloysian Games will feature competitions in four categories – School, High School, PU College and Degree College. With over 100 prizes on offer, the event also includes a cash prize pool of Rs 1.5 lac for PU and Degree College categories.

The sports meet comprises a wide range of individual and team events. Individual events include chess, badminton (singles), table tennis, swimming and karate, while team events include football, badminton (doubles), volleyball, basketball, throwball and box cricket.

As part of the Aloysian Games celebrations, the university will also organise the Aloysian Run 2026 on Sunday, January 18, 2026, starting from 5.00 am onwards. The Aloysian Run is billed as Mangaluru’s largest run event and is open to all members of the public, including children, adults and senior citizens.

The run will feature 10K timed run, 5K timed run, 5K untimed run, and 3K untimed run categories. Attractive prizes will be awarded to the top three winners in each age group for both men and women in the timed runs. Participants in untimed runs will receive trophies and certificates.
