Mangaluru, Dec 24: Christmas, the feast of love and peace, was celebrated with joy and reverence at St Aloysius Gonzaga School on Tuesday, December 23, in the Gonzaga Hall.

The programme was graced by the chief guest, Ronald Sebastian Castelino, popularly known as Roy Castelino, a successful entrepreneur, community leader, and president of Rachana, the Catholic Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The celebration was presided over by Fr Melwin Joseph Pinto SJ, the rector of St Aloysius Institutions.

In his inspiring address, Castelino, a proud alumnus of St Aloysius College, Mangaluru, spoke about the true spirit of Christmas and encouraged students to practice love, kindness, and sharing, especially with the needy. The Rector reminded the young Gonzagaites that Christmas is a festival of love and called upon everyone to see God in one another.

The principal, Fr Rohan D’Almeida SJ, highlighted the importance of human values, compassion, and care for all. Referring to the message of Christmas, he quoted, “Do what God did—become human,” urging students to live with empathy, humility, and concern for others, and to practice the religion of humanity in their daily lives.

The celebration began with a prayerful start followed by meaningful student presentations.
