MCC Qatar celebrates ‘Magical Christmas Fiesta’ with joy, tradition, togetherness

Doha, Dec 19: The Mangalore Cricket Club (MCC) Qatar hosted a vibrant and heart-warming “Magical Christmas Fiesta” on December 13 at DMIS Auditorium, Abu Hamour, Doha, creating a memorable Christmas celebration for children filled with joy, creativity, and festive cheer.

The program was engagingly compered by Lavita Rodrigues, joint membership secretary, and Vanessa Saldanha, Media & Publicity coordinator. The celebration commenced with a prayer led by vice president Ryan Renjar, setting a serene and meaningful tone for the evening.

A warm welcome address and Christmas message was delivered by president Denzil Christine Lobo, highlighting the importance of love, sharing, and togetherness during the festive season. This was followed by the Christmas cake cutting ceremony, conducted by MCC EXCOM members and advisors present, including Alfred Sequeira and Riana Pinto.

Adding colour and depth to the program, children presented a Christmas-themed skit, creatively directed by cultural secretary Primal Pinto, beautifully conveying the true message of Christmas. The participants of the skit were Jayden Cletus D’Cunha, Regan Savio Misquith, Chris Joseph Menezes, Rochelle Andrea D’Souza, Chrizell Kate Lobo, Leora Ivanna Pinto, Melisha Kate Fernandes, Kiara Antonella Fernandes, Nestor Keaton Fernandes, Chrishell Kaira Lobo, Melshan Pinto, Melster Keith Fernandes, Ethan Louie Tauro, Rishon Vance Pais, and Melrin Pinto. This was followed by melodious Christmas carol singing by Samantha Patricia Pereira, Simone Clare Pereira, Prenia Adel Pinto, Nestor Keaton Fernandes, Chrizell Kate Lobo, Melisha Kate Fernandes, Nealon Aurel D'Souza, Leora Ivanna Pinto, Melster Keith Fernandes, Jaelyn Claire Dcunha, Ackly Seldon D'Souza, Abigail Eva D'Souza, Maverick Norbert Mascarenhas, Melrin Pinto, Nicole Angel D'Souza, Joanna Angel D'Souza, Ariston Johan D'Souza, Brianna Jenisha Britto, Melshan Pinto, trained and guided by Advisor Alwyn D'Souza, which filled the venue with festive joy.

One of the most awaited moments of the evening was the exciting entry of Santa Claus, bringing immense happiness and excitement among the children. The fun continued with an energetic Zumba session with Santa, led by joint cultural secretary Sean Fernandes, creating a lively and interactive atmosphere. Following the Zumba session, the much-awaited part of the evening was the magic show by Rayn Tan – Doha Magicians, which thrilled the children and captivated the audience with exciting and entertaining performances.

In a unique initiative to reconnect children with traditional Christmas customs, MCC introduced a creative “MCC Post Office”, where children designed their own Christmas greeting cards and posted them in the MCC post box, reviving the old tradition of sending greetings to relatives and friends.

The celebration also featured exciting games organized for children across different age categories, ensuring fun and engagement for all. Winners were awarded prizes by MCC EXCOM members. To conclude the program on a joyful note, a fun-filled dance session was led by Lavita Rodrigues, with children enthusiastically joining in.

As a special gesture, all children were presented with Christmas goodies, bringing smiles and happiness to every young participant.

MCC Qatar expressed gratitude to all the children and their parents for their enthusiastic participation and sincerely appreciated the support of all sponsors and volunteers whose dedication and efforts played a vital role in making this joyful celebration a grand success.

The celebration was further enhanced by the beautifully crafted Christmas décor that transformed the hall into a festive wonderland, creatively planned and led by membership secretary Sachin Monteiro, adding the perfect finishing touch to the Magical Christmas Fiesta.
