Haryana, Dec 11: In a landscape where thousands aspire and only a few rise to the top, Saloni Chhabra’s remarkable achievement of securing All India Rank (AIR) 29 in the UPSC IAS 2023 examination stands as a shining example of how persistence, self-belief and hard work can transform dreams into reality.
Born and raised in Gurugram, Haryana, Saloni grew up in an entrepreneurial family that encouraged ambition and independence. A bright student from the beginning, she completed her schooling and 10+2 at Blue Bells School, Gurugram, before graduating with a BA (Hons) in Economics from the prestigious Shri Ram College of Commerce, University of Delhi.

Beyond academics, Saloni is someone who believes in holistic growth. She is a fitness enthusiast who enjoys Zumba and strength training. Her evenings often include long walks with her beloved dog — moments that helped her decompress during the intensity of UPSC preparation.
But Saloni’s journey was far from easy. She faced multiple setbacks — missing Prelims in 2020, struggling with CSAT in 2021, and finding Mains challenging in 2022.
Many would have stepped back — but not Saloni. Instead of letting failures define her, she used each attempt as a stepping stone. She analysed her weaknesses, rebuilt her strategy, and cultivated discipline with renewed clarity.
Her persistence paid off first with AIR 213, and then, with extraordinary determination, she rose even higher to secure AIR 29, establishing herself as one of the UPSC IAS 2023 toppers.
Saloni Chhabra’s story is more than a rank — it is a celebration of resilience. She proves that success is not about a flawless journey, but about rising every time life pushes you down. For aspirants across the country, her journey serves as a reminder: failure is not the end — it is simply the beginning of a stronger comeback.
