Mangaluru: Mount Carmel stars bring home glory at AICS tournaments

Mangaluru, Dec 10: The students of Mount Carmel Central School, Mangaluru excelled in various AICS inter-school tournaments held recently.

In the AICS Swimming Championship ‘SDM SPLASH 2025’, organised by SDM English Medium School, Ujire on December 6, Reema A S of Grade VIII B won a silver medal in the 50mts back stroke and a bronze in the 50 mts freestyle. Alita D'Souza of Grade V D secured a silver in 50 mts butterfly. In the Medley Relay, Reema A S of VIII B, Nishka Fernnades of V E, Alita D'Souza of V D and Poorvi C.K of VIII D clinched the Gold. In the Freestyle Relay, Reema A S of VIII B, Keerthana Kishore of IX C, Nishka Fernandes of V E and Alita D'Souza of V D once again struck Gold. Their combined achievements earned the school the Overall Girls’ Championship in the Under-17 category.

In the AICS Basketball Tournament ‘DRIBBLE WARS’ organised by Presidency School, Mangaluru on December 5, the students secured the Runners-up position in both U-14 boys’ and U-17 boys’ categories. Ian Suvin D'Mello of Grade X B was awarded the Best Shooter trophy.

In the AICS Inter School Volleyball Tournament 2025 “SHAKTHI RISE AND SPIKE” organised by Shakthi Residential School, Mangaluru and held on November 28 at Mangala Stadium, the students won the 3rd Runners-up position in the U-17 boys’ category.

The management, staff and students of Mount Carmel Central School have congratulated all the players for their outstanding achievements and enthusiastic participation. The school takes pride in nurturing talent and remains committed to promoting excellence not only in academics but in every sphere of student development, including sports. These victories reflect the Carmel spirit of hard work, discipline, and determination, inspiring every Carmelite to strive for greater heights.
