Dabolim, Dec 7: Flight operations of IndiGo at Goa International Airport, Dabolim, showed steady improvement on Saturday, bringing much-needed relief to passengers after two days of widespread disruptions.
Airport authorities reported smoother movement at terminals, fewer queues at airline counters and an overall calmer atmosphere. Of the 37 IndiGo flights scheduled, 14 were cancelled, while 23 operated normally, marking a significant improvement.

Cancellations, however, continued on several key domestic routes including Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Pune, Raipur, Mumbai, Delhi, Indore, Cochin, Bengaluru and Kolkata, affecting both business and leisure travellers.
Officials noted that despite the cancellations, the passenger flow remained organised throughout the day, a stark contrast to the chaos witnessed earlier. One of the biggest improvements was the enhanced seating arrangements made for travellers waiting for revised flight updates.
Additional seating spaces were created outside both the arrival and departure terminals, allowing stranded flyers to rest comfortably while monitoring flight information. Passengers were seen seated calmly, expressing relief over the improved arrangements. Airport staff and ground personnel were also more visible, assisting travellers and easing movement across terminals.
Authorities said these measures were part of a broader, coordinated effort to streamline passenger handling until full normalcy returns. With many disrupted passengers already rebooked earlier in the day, Saturday witnessed more controlled footfall and fewer last-minute issues.
Sources indicated that while IndiGo had issued a detailed statement on the cause of the disruptions, key operational challenges involving crew deployment and aircraft rotation were gradually being addressed. As these stabilise, the airline is expected to restore a larger number of flights in the coming days.
Despite continued cancellations on specific routes, the overall mood at Goa Airport remained noticeably calmer, with effective crowd management and improved on-ground coordination ensuring minimal inconvenience to travellers.
Authorities remain hopeful that regular flight schedules will resume soon, as operations continue to stabilise phase by phase.
