Karkala: Three injured as car collides with electric pole in Hirgana

Karkala, Dec 3: Three members of a family sustained injuries when a car lost control and rammed an electric pole on the Karkala–Hebri route on December 2.

The injured have been identified as Sadananda Naik, an engineer in the Karkala panchayat raj division, his wife and their child.

The accident occurred near Mooruru in Hirgana village when Sadananda Naik was travelling with his wife and child towards their home at Brahmavar’s Chantaru. A cyclist reportedly came in the way near the Karkala–Hebri state highway stretch at Mooruru, causing the car to go out of control and crash into a high-tension electric pole.

All three injured have been admitted to a private hospital in Karkala.
