Dubai, Dec 1: The much-awaited Konkani film Bapache Puthache Navim had its grand premiere in Dubai on Thursday, marking a memorable milestone for Konkani cinema. The event witnessed an enthusiastic audience and an impressive lineup of dignitaries who graced the inauguration ceremony.
The premiere was inaugurated by Lancy D’Souza, Herry Fernandes, Lawrence D’Souza, Harish Sherigar, Franky D’Souza, Dayan D’Souza, Sunitha Menezes, and Alwyn Pinto, all of whom were present on stage. Herry Fernandes is known for directing films in Konkani, Punjabi, and Bhojpuri, while Lawrence D’Souza is the well-known director of the Bollywood classic Saajan.








































Dayan D’Souza spoke on the occasion and shared how the idea for the film evolved and was executed. He expressed gratitude to the backbone of the project, Micheal D’Souza and family. He acknowledged that Micheal D’Souza is known for his remarkable service through the Vision Konkani mission. With a deep desire to uplift the richness of the Konkani language and create impactful cinema, Micheal D’Souza ventured into film production for the first time through this project. His vision took shape with the commitment and execution by Walter Nandalike of Daijiworld Media, bringing the movie to life.
During the event, Harish Sherigar expressed his excitement about the film and stated that he was eager to watch it along with the audience, celebrating the collective experience on this special day.
Unique inaugural moment
The film’s premiere was inaugurated in a creative and captivating manner. The ceremony featured a symbolic prelude in which the distinguished guests exclaimed “Lights, Camera, Action!”, and the audience joined in chorus by voicing the film’s title: Bapache Puthache Navim.
