Five workers killed in horrific road accident in Kaup taluk

Kaup, Nov 30: A tragic road accident occurred in Udupi district’s Kaup taluk when a tempo overturned on the national highway, resulting in the death of five workers on the spot and seven injured.

According to reports, twelve labourers were travelling in the vehicle, which was heading from Kaup towards Udupi carrying materials for an event. The tempo, reportedly moving at high speed, lost control and overturned on the highway NH 66 road in Pangala.

The deceased workers are said to be natives of Uttar Pradesh. The remaining occupants sustained serious injuries and were rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Police have registered a case and an investigation is underway.
