Udupi: ‘Laksha Kantha Geeta Gayana’ enters Golden Book of World Records

Udupi, Nov 29: The grand ‘Laksha Kantha Geeta Gayan’ event held at Udupi has officially entered the Golden Book of World Records. As envisioned by Paryaya Puttige seer Sugunendra Teertha Swamiji, the historic programme was conducted in the esteemed presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday November 28.

Dr Manish Kumar Vishnoi, Asia head of the Golden Book of World Records, presented the official certificate to Paryaya Puttige seer Sugunendra Teertha Swamiji during the ceremony.

The record-setting event was conceptualized under the guidance of Golden Book of World Records holder Yashavanth M G, and executed under the leadership of Diwans of Puttige Math Nagaraj Acharya and Prasanna Acharya, who meticulously planned the entire programme.

More than one lac people joined the event and recited the Gita Parayanas echoing the Gita all at once. The event became more important by the participation of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi reciting the 15th parayana of the Gita.

The event marked a proud moment of cultural and spiritual significance for the region.
