Doha, Nov 27: Popular Konkani musical event ‘Pepere Pepe Dum’, conceptualized by the organization Ami Ani Amchim (AAA) to promote and popularize brass band music along the coastal belt, has now reached international shores. After the successful season 2 show staged in Muscat by MCPP the torch to host season 3 has been handed over to Mangalore Cricket Club (MCC) Doha – Qatar. The event will take place on Friday, April 17, commencing at 4:00 pm at the DPS-Indian School Auditorium, located in Wakra.
Mangalore Cricket Club (MCC) Doha Qatar is a prominent socio-cultural organization for the expatriate Indian community from the Mangaluru and Udupi regions of Karnataka, India. The club's primary mission is to preserve and promote the rich Konkani culture and heritage, and to provide a platform for community members to connect, socialize, and showcase their talents.

While it started with a focus on cricket in 1992, it has evolved into a multifaceted organization that hosts a variety of events, including cultural programs, sports tournaments (throwball, volleyball, kabaddi, etc.), educational seminars, and social gatherings like the annual ‘Monthi Fest’ celebration and blood donation drives. MCC Qatar actively engages in charitable work, providing support for medical assistance, education, and housing for the less fortunate back in India, and fostering a strong sense of family and unity among Mangalureans in Qatar.
Mangalore Cricket Club (MCC) Qatar has indeed earned a strong reputation for organizing high-quality events that promote Mangalurean culture and provide a platform for local and international talents. Soad 3 International, Gulf Baila Naach, Global Konkani Comedy Challenge, Global Baila Challenge programmes have achieved widespread acclaim from Konkani lovers across the globe.
MCC’s executive committee expressed confidence that season 3 will be a grand brass band fest in Qatar carrying forward the festival’s mission of promoting Konkani music and brass band culture.
Brass Band team along with members of Ami Ani Amchim (AAA) will be flown in from Mangaluru for the event. Entry is free to all brass band lovers to attend and enjoy the event.
Participation in the performances is exclusive to MCC members residing in Qatar who are above 13 years of age. Four teams (min 25, max 30 members) will be formed to take part in the categories -Waltz Dance & Jive Dance Performance, Live Band Group Dance Performance and Theme-based Group Performance.
For Mangalurean brass band lovers across the globe MCC Qatar is happy to announce a family reel brass band competition with exciting prizes, details of the competition will be shared on social media early 2026.
The festival promises a vibrant celebration of Konkani brass band music with performances featuring traditional and contemporary music, dynamic dance forms and a lively cultural atmosphere.
