Israel offers surrender deal to Hamas tunnel operatives, awaits response

Daijiworld Media Network - Gaza

Gaza, Nov 27: In a significant development amid ongoing tensions in the Gaza Strip, Israel has reportedly conveyed a proposal to Hamas through mediators, offering a chance for terrorists hiding in underground tunnels to surrender in exchange for arrest rather than lethal force, N12 reported on Wednesday.

As per the proposal, Hamas operatives who surrender would be detained in Israel and may later be allowed to return to Gaza—on the condition that they disarm and abstain from any future terror activity. Mediators have relayed the offer to Hamas operatives, but no response has been received so far.

An Israeli source, speaking to N12, said, “We gave the terrorists in Rafah the option to live and be released from there. Up until this moment, they have not agreed to meet the conditions we set. It seems as if they have decided to become martyrs.”
