Raichur’s Kavital police station ranked third among India’s best

Raichur, Nov 26: The Kavital police station has been selected for the union home ministry’s prestigious annual award for the year 2025, securing the third place in the list of the best police stations in the country.

The station earned this recognition based on several parameters, including efficient handling of complaints from women, prompt registration of cases, responsive behaviour of the station in-charge and staff, prevention of child marriage and child abuse, as well as maintaining a good environment, cleanliness, necessary infrastructure and overall people-friendly services.

In the initial stage, 78 police stations were shortlisted for the award, among which Kavital, Balaganur from Raichur district, and Sirigere from Ballari district were identified. In the final list, the Kavital police station secured the third position.

During a ceremony scheduled to be held on November 28 in Raipur, Chhattisgarh, union home minister Amit Shah will present the awards to the respective station officers. Kavital station SI Guruchandra Yadav will receive the award on behalf of the station.
