Udupi, Nov 24: A potential tragedy was averted at Madgaon Railway Station on Sunday, November 23, when a passenger attempting to alight from a moving train slipped and fell into the gap between the train and the platform.
The incident occurred at around 7 pm as Train No. 20112 Konkan Kanya Express was departing from Platform No. 1.
RPF constable Kapil Saini and head constable R S Bhai, who were on duty at the platform, acted with exceptional alertness and swiftly pulled the passenger to safety, preventing a serious accident.



In recognition of their prompt and courageous action, Konkan Railway chairman and managing director Santosh Kumar Jha announced a reward of Rs 10,000 each for both RPF personnel.
The rescued passenger expressed deep gratitude for the timely assistance.
Konkan Railway has once again urged all passengers not to board or alight from moving trains, stressing that such actions pose severe risks to life and safety. Travellers have been advised to strictly follow all safety guidelines, as their safety remains the Railway’s top priority.
