Vancouver, Nov 23: Bengaluru has carved out a place for itself on the world map, securing the 29th position in the World’s Best Cities 2025–26 list released by Resonance Consultancy, a global advisory firm known for its influential urban rankings.
The city’s recognition as one of the top 30 cities on the planet is being hailed as a significant milestone, reflecting its rising reputation across technology, environment, food culture, safety, and tourism.

The consultancy’s latest report evaluates cities based on their suitability for living, working, and visiting, drawing on factors including public perception, population, economic prowess, tourism appeal, culinary culture, transport systems, environmental quality, and long-term liveability.
Bengaluru’s performance across multiple parameters has placed it among the world’s elite urban centres.
According to the report, European cities dominate the list, with only two Asian cities making it into the top 10. Yet Bengaluru’s emergence in the top 30 underscores India’s growing visibility on the global urban stage.
At the very top, London retains its no. 1 ranking for the 11th consecutive year, reaffirming its long-standing global appeal. It is followed by New York in second place and Paris in third. Tokyo, celebrated for its cultural depth, claims fourth position, while Madrid rounds off the top five.
The rest of the top ten features Singapore, Rome, Dubai, Berlin, and Barcelona, completing a list dominated by cultural giants and global economic powerhouses.
Bengaluru’s 29th-place finish is attributed not only to its status as India’s technology capital but also to its expanding green spaces, scientific innovation, diverse food culture, and improving safety indicators. The report highlights that the city’s wildlife parks, tech laboratories, historic landmarks, and varied cultural experiences have collectively strengthened its global standing.
Other Indian cities featured in the rankings include Mumbai at 40th, New Delhi at 54th, and Hyderabad at 82nd, adding to the country’s growing representation in the prestigious global index.
With its mix of innovation, culture, and natural assets, Bengaluru continues to attract international attention — and its latest ranking signals that the city’s global ascent is far from over.
