Karnataka Social Club-Bahrain hosts induction ceremony with welcome dance

Bahrain, Nov 21: The Karnataka Club-Bahrain played host to two events, the induction ceremony along with a welcome dance on Thursday, November 20.

Around 150 graced the occasion. The entertainment secretary, Rajesh Prabhu pledged to provide members with their weekly dose of programmes along with other premier singing, dance competitions and many sports activities by the sports secretary, Ajay Lobo.

In his inaugural address to the members the president, Cletus Rodrigues thanked the members for their support to the Mangalorean Club ever since its inception. He believed this trend will continue in the years to come and informed them as he would strive to justify its existence as a truly family club with weekend programmes for members and other sporting events.

The evening progressed with the children being treated to their favourite game of passing the parcel. In their enthusiasm many dropped the parcel several times.

The induction ceremony task was handed over to a long-standing veteran, a competent MC on various occasions, Bertram Rego. Rego infused a lot of humour in his introduction of the newly elected committee.

A Mangalurean dance performance on the stage by members children had the audience cheering to their favourite Mangalurean dance numbers.

A short game was then conducted by Bertram Rego wherein members had to take selfies with 4 prominent personalities in the hall and the winners were adjudged with the best selfies.

A session of line dancing to old time favourites, Achy Breaky Heart and Shalalala brought memories of the glorious past.

Members were then treated to a sumptuous complimentary Mangalurean dinner. After the energy-zapping dancing they deserved this!

The programme concluded in the early morning of November 21 but not before the energetic dances rocked the floor with the DJ Alwyn spinning their favourite Bollywood tracks.
