Kuwait: KCWA hosts family get-together 2025 at Mishref Garden filled with fun & togetherness

Kuwait, Nov 19: Kuwait Canara Welfare Association (KCWA) held its annual family get-together on Friday, November 14 at Mishref Garden. Fun filled day started by invoking God’s blessings through prayer, led by Arwin Rodrigues. The pleasant weather conditions in Kuwait drew people in large numbers for this KCWA family event. The action song at the opening ceremony created a wonderful, energetic start to the family get-together and was enjoyed by all attendees.

President Prakash Godwin Pinto gave a warm welcome to the gathering and requested to enjoy the day with the spirit of togetherness. Over 600 people gathered at Mishref Garden to spend the day with the community.

Various fun games like ‘Loving the City’ and ‘Breaking the Pot’ were held for all age groups. Kids of age group 0-6 years enjoyed games like ‘Passing the Cap’, ‘Hoop shot’ and ‘Cartoon Character’. Children of age group 7-9 had ‘Battle of Tails’ and ‘Bulls Eye’, while 10-12 age group had ‘Throwing the Ball backwards’, ‘Picking glasses with ballons’ also 13-17 years played ‘Dodge ball’ and ‘Filling your bottle with water’ games. Couples and Senior Citizens enjoyed playing ‘Made for Each Other’ and ‘Sweet Sixty’s’ game. The day long fun-filled event comprised of sporting activities, games, entertainment and prizes galore, thoroughly enjoyed by adults and children alike. Housie-Housie game had large number of participants and had multiple winners.

Spiritual director Fr Avil Rosario's presence added a sense of warmth, unity, and spiritual joy to the entire gathering. He graciously recited the grace, reminding to be thankful for the food shared and for the fellowship we enjoyed together. He then extended his heartfelt blessings to everyone present, uplifting spirits and wished the event every success, motivating all to make the celebration both meaningful and memorable.

Other sports event like volleyball for men, throwball for women, shot put, tug of war for men and women were the highlights of the day and events were coordinated by sports secretary Alan Vaz along with sports committee members.

Winners of various games and sports conducted during the day, received trophies/medals from president Prakash Godwin Pinto & managing committee member.

Opening ceremony was compered by Vinitha Pinto and prize distribution ceremony was compered by Yvonne Veigas. The vote of thanks was delivered by sports secretary Alan Vaz, and the closing prayer was led by Roystun D’Souza. Prem Crasto and Lennon Paris captured the special moments throughout the day. Everyone enjoyed delicious breakfast and lunch served by Mughal Tandoori Restaurant, Abbasiya. Media coverage was done by website administrator Nilton D’Souza, supported by Allan D’Souza, former website administrator. Canaraworld Kuwaity.com, James Paul D’Souza were thanked for the media coverage and Johnson D’Almeida and Franky D’Souza team for logistic support. Sound system was provided by Roshan Rodrigues. The entire event was well coordinated by sports secretary, Alan Vaz along with sports committee, managing committee and supporting committee members.

KCWA family get-together was fascinated with lots of fun filled activities to entertain actively participating enthusiastic Mangalorean’s in Kuwait.
