Dubai, Nov 11: The 12th United Pangalites (UPA) drawing competition was held on November 2nd, at Sports Bay Al Karama turned into a vibrant celebration of imagination, inclusivity, and young talent. The event drew more than 100 enthusiastic young artists each eager to express their creativity on canvas.
This year’s competition featured four exciting categories tailored to different age groups and abilities:
• Under 7 years – Outline sheets were provided
• Ages 8 to 11 – Life under the sea
• Ages 12 to 15 – A world without technology
• Category of determination – Creative vision of their choice






























The event was graced by distinguished guests Nelson Rodricks & Melwyn D’mello whose presence added warmth and encouragement to the occasion.
UPA president Sweeny D’Souza welcomed the participants and guests with inspiring words setting a cheerful and encouraging tone for the day.
The proceedings were seamlessly anchored by the trio Jace Quadras/Shaun D’Souza & Christon D’Souza whose engaging emceeing kept the audience energized and entertained.
This year also marked a proud milestone for UPA. For the very first time UPA took a meaningful step in recognizing and celebrating the academic excellence of young parish members who had excelled in their board examinations. Melriya D’mello, Teisha D’Souza, and Shaun D’Souza were felicitated with certificates and mementos in honor of their hard work and achievements a gesture that encouraged every young student present to dream big, study with dedication, and shine bright.
A ceremonial lamp was lit to symbolize knowledge & new beginnings setting a perfect tone for the event ahead.
The competition was judged by a talented panel Madhusudan and Jisha Faizal who had the challenging task of selecting winners from a pool of creative entries. They praised the children for their creativity and artistic flair noting the exceptional standard of work across all categories.
To add a touch of magic to the day a special Magic Show was organized for the children sparking laughter and joy among participants.
Certificates and trophies were awarded to the winners by the judges and sponsors with UPA core committee member and advisor Joel Quadras leading the prize distribution. Every young participant also received a certificate of participation along with delicious snacks making the day a joyful and memorable experience for all.
The event’s success was made possible through the generosity of sponsors and supporters including Austin Barboza from HART Office and Stationery Supplies, Karama who sponsored the winners’ trophies.
UPA secretary Vinitha Sequeira expressed heartfelt gratitude to the participants, judges, sponsors, and committee members for their invaluable support and dedication which ensured the smooth and successful execution of this community event.
