Ohio, Nov 3: At least nine people were injured during a mass shooting at a rented home in Bath Township, near Cleveland, Ohio, early Sunday morning. The incident occurred during a birthday party attended mostly by teenagers, which had been promoted on social media, police said.
According to reports, chaos broke out around 12:15 a.m. when gunfire erupted at the large rental property, located about 24 km northwest of Akron. Bath Township Police Chief Vito Sinopoli described it as a “tragic and senseless act of violence,” adding that first responders performed life-saving measures as several people fled the scene.

“We can confirm that a large party was taking place at this location, which was advertised on social media, drawing a significant crowd,” Sinopoli said. “Our deepest sympathy goes out to the victims’ families and all those affected by this devastating incident.”
Police said the nine victims were taken to nearby hospitals, though it remains unclear if all suffered gunshot wounds or were injured in other ways. Their conditions are currently being monitored.
Authorities confirmed that the house where the shooting occurred had been rented through Airbnb, in violation of local zoning rules. Most attendees were juveniles.
Airbnb, in response, announced that it has suspended the listing and removed the account of the person who rented the property. The company reiterated its strict ban on “unauthorized and disruptive gatherings.”
The Bath Township Police Department is continuing its investigation into the shooting.
