CONGRATS TO ASHOK POOVAIAH. WELL DESERVED HONOUR FOR ONE OF THE GREATEST BADMINTON PLAYERS. ASHOK POOVAIAH is a very down to earth sportsman despite shining in the badminton world so prominently. I have known him for some time and his humility and keen desire to help upcoming and promising players is noteworthy. He is seen coaching the badminton players in Mangalore even today and is available for guidance and advice. ASHOK was a top champion during his playing days winning tournaments at will. His brother ARUN also is a champion player and badminton seems to run in their family. The government has rightly honoured a deserving player with the Rajyotsava Award. This will only pep him to serve the game better and longer to benefit badminton players. CONGRATS ASHOK POOVAIAH.
