Mangaluru, Nov 1: The comedy teaser of the upcoming Tulu film ‘Jai’, directed and acted by Rock Star Rupesh Shetty, was launched at City Centre Mall, Mangaluru on October 30. The film will be released in both Tulu and Kannada languages on November 14.
Speaking at the event, Rupesh Shetty said, “We are following the path laid by our seniors who have given several successful films to Tulu cinema. With their guidance and experience, we have made this film with complete dedication and devotion. ‘Jai’ is my dream project, and many people have worked hard for it. I request everyone who believes in us to watch and support the film.”


In a unique gesture, artists dressed as characters portrayed by Devadas Kapikad and Aravind Bolar arrived on stage with a tableau and a pen drive to release the teaser.
The event was attended by Taranath Shetty, Prakash Pandeshwar, Lanchulal KS, Pummy Kodialbail, Bhojaraj Vamanjoor, former corporator Divakar Pandeshwar, Manjunath Attavar, journalist Bala Jagannath Shetty, actress Jayashil, Mangesh Bhat Vitla, Pradeep Alva Kadri, Shyam Kahale, Prem Shetty Surathkal, and Sandeep Shetty Manibettu, among others.
‘Jai’ is touted as a big-budget Tulu film featuring several renowned artists from the coastal region. Following the success of ‘Girgit’, ‘Gamjaal’, and ‘Circus’, Rupesh Shetty has taken on this ambitious project under the banners of RS Cinemas, Shoolin Films, and Mugrodi Productions.
The story and dialogues are penned by Prasanna Shetty Bailur, while the screenplay is by Rupesh Shetty and Venu Hasrali. Vinuth K handles cinematography, Loy Valentine Saldanha has composed the music, Rahul Vasishta manages editing, and Naveen Shetty Aryans serves as choreographer and executive producer.
The film stars Sunil Shetty, Dr Devadas Kapikad, Raj Deepak Shetty, Naveen D Padil, Aravind Bolar, Bhojaraj Vamanjoor, Prasanna Shetty Bailur, Sandeep Shetty Manibettu, Umesh Mijar, and others, with Advithi Shetty playing the female lead.
‘Jai’ is scheduled to hit theatres on November 14.
