Mangaluru, Oct 31: Srinivas University, Institute of Hotel Management and Tourism, Pandeshwar, Mangaluru conducted the 34th annual food festival “HOG – 2K25” on October 30 at the city campus Pandeshwara.
Srinivas University’s chancellor and A Shama Rao Foundation president Dr CA A Raghavendra Rao, presided over the programme and said, that "Health is the greatest wealth of a human being — if one has good health, one can achieve anything in life."
He added that the university has been organising such programmes for the past 34 years. He encouraged students to work hard in their academic journey, as dedication and effort are essential for reaching the pinnacle of success in life.









Mangaluru City CCRB ACP Geetha D Kulkarni along with other dignitaries, inaugurated the programme by lighting the lamp. In her address, she said that a food festival should not merely serve as a source of entertainment but should also aim to raise awareness about the food we consume and educate people on its health benefits. She also cautioned that
cases of online fraud have been increasing recently, emphasising the need for everyone to stay alert and vigilant.
Srinivas University board of governors trustee member A Vijayalakshmi R Rao and Prof Er A Mitra S Rao, Srinivas University registrar Dr Anil Kumar, development registrar Dr Ajay Kumar, Institute of Hotel Management & Tourism Dean Prof B Prashanth Prabhu were present.
Institute of Hotel Management & Tourism student council president Pavan Raj welcomed the gathering. Catering secretary  Ajith Shetty introduced the food counters, and student council general secretary Nishanth S. M delivered the vote of thanks.
Bhoomika, Sandra Manoj, Khansa and Ayisha compered the programme.
The annual food fest has been organised since 1992 to expose hotel management students to the intricacies and nitty-gritty of event management. Students get to experience various fields like sales and marketing, food production, F & B service, purchasing, and other management skills.
The vibrant evening came alive with The Secret Sauce concert, filling the atmosphere with rhythm, energy, and unforgettable melodies. Flaring & Juggling, cultural programme, and mouth-watering delicacies were the highlights of the evening.
