Mangaluru: RPF personnel return left-behind luggage worth Rs 5.92 lac to passenger

Mangaluru, Oct 26: Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel attached to Southern Railway’s Mangaluru Central Post on Friday returned a left-behind bag containing valuables worth Rs 5.92 lakh to its rightful owner.

According to an official release, sub-inspector K. Premkumar and constable K. Pradeesh had recently secured the unattended luggage from platform number 3. The bag contained cash, mobile phones, spectacles, and other valuables estimated at Rs 5.92 lakh.

The RPF traced the owner after receiving a call on one of the recovered mobile phones. Following verification, the items were formally handed over to Suresh Kumar, a relative of the passenger, the release stated.

The timely action by the RPF personnel has been commended for upholding passenger trust and ensuring the safe return of valuables left behind at the station.
