Puttur, Oct 20:
A house was completely damaged and five people, including a child, sustained minor injuries after lightning struck during a heavy thunderstorm at Bedraala in Narimogaru village, Puttur taluk, on October 19 evening.

The house belonged to Dayananda Moolya, a resident of Bedraala. The lightning strike shattered the tiled roof completely, caused partial collapse of the walls, and damaged a section of the cement sheet roofing. It is suspected that the nearby electric transformer may have intensified the impact of the lightning strike on the house.

The family members sustained minor injuries when fragments of the roof fell on them. They were admitted to Puttur hospital for treatment.
