Persistence pays off: Aayushi Bansal clears UPSC three times, ranks 7th in 2024

Daijiworld Media Network – Madhya Pradesh

Madhya Pradesh, Oct 14: When nine-year-old Aayushi Bansal lost her father, her world changed overnight. The loss that could have broken her instead became the foundation of her strength. Growing up in Gwalior’s Muraar area with her mother, Radha Bansal, and brother, Aman, Aayushi learned early that life would test her—but she also had a mother who refused to let hardship define their future.

Years later, that little girl has scripted one of the most inspiring success stories in the country. In the UPSC Civil Services Examination 2024, Aayushi secured an All India Rank (AIR) 7—an achievement that came after years of resilience, sacrifice, and determination.

After completing her schooling in Gwalior, Aayushi pursued engineering at IIT Kanpur. A degree from one of India’s top institutions could have opened doors to a comfortable career, but Aayushi had other plans. A brief stint in the private sector made her realize that her purpose lay beyond the confines of corporate life. In 2021, she made a bold decision to prepare for the UPSC Civil Services Examination.

Aayushi’s first attempt in 2022 was a remarkable success—she secured Rank 188 and was selected for the Indian Police Service (IPS), Karnataka cadre. For most, it would have been a dream fulfilled. But Aayushi wanted more. Even as she began her IPS training in Hyderabad, she continued studying, determined to achieve her ultimate goal—the Indian Administrative Service (IAS).

In her second attempt in 2023, she improved her performance, securing Rank 97. Yet, her inner voice urged her to keep going. She took a break from her IPS role and dedicated herself entirely to preparation once again.

In 2024, her persistence paid off. Aayushi’s name appeared at Rank 7 in the UPSC results—an achievement that brought tears of pride to her family and joy to her hometown.

Behind the number ‘7’ lies a story of courage and relentless belief. Aayushi gave up a secure career, faced long stretches of isolation, and endured countless sleepless nights.

Aayushi Bansal’s journey is more than a UPSC success—it’s a testament to perseverance, faith, and the power of dreams. It’s about a daughter who turned pain into purpose, a mother who stood unwavering through struggle, and a family that refused to give up.

As Aayushi steps forward to begin her journey as an IAS officer, she carries with her not just ambition—but a legacy built on love, courage, and hope.
