Yakshagana feast for island’s art lovers: Chitrakshi Kalyana by Bahrain Kannada Sangha

Bahrain, Oct 8: As part of Yaksha Vaibhava 2025, the Bahrain Kannada Sangha will present the Yakshagana episode Chitrakshi Kalyana on Friday, October 10, at 5 pm in the cultural auditorium of the Sangha.

The performance will bring together renowned artists from the Badagutittu tradition of Yakshagana along with the Sangha’s own performers. Veteran Badagutittu Yakshagana artists including Kudi Kartik Chittani, renowned female role artist Sudheer Uppoor, and celebrated artist Vinay Berolli will perform in the Mummela (main stage), while famous Bhagavatas from the region such as Ramakrishna Hilluru, maddale player Sunil Bhandari, and chende player Ganesh Gaonkar will showcase their skills in the Himmela (backstage support).

Together, they will offer island Yakshagana enthusiasts a rich and authentic Badagutittu Yakshagana experience. Sangha artists will also display their artistry on stage.

Entry to the performance is free, and the Sangha has invited all art lovers on the island to attend in large numbers and support this rich cultural heritage.
