Mangaluru, Sep 11: Mangaluru city has witnessed a notable rise in road accidents in 2025, with the situation in the city police commissionerate limits emerging as a serious concern.
The latest accident statistics reveal troubling trends in both frequency and severity. With an increase in collisions involving pedestrians, two-wheelers, and public transport, concerns over road safety, traffic congestion, and accidents due to potholes are on the rise.

From January 1 to September 9, 2025, a total of 702 road accidents were reported, resulting in 122 deaths and 815 injuries, according to official sources.

This translates to an average of nearly three accidents per day, with fatalities occurring at a rate of approximately one death every two days.
