Mangaluru, Sep 5: An alert from a surveillance system in Delhi helped Ullal police nab a man attempting to steal cash from an ATM in Kotekaru Beeri late at night.
The accused, identified as Nagappa Keralatti (41), a resident of Kustagi in Koppal district, was caught red-handed around 3 am while trying to break open the cash box inside an SBI ATM.

According to police, Nagappa had entered the ATM around 2:30 am and damaged the cash box using tools he carried. The activity triggered an alert in the surveillance system that monitors ATMs across districts from Delhi.
On receiving the alert, surveillance staffer Ranjith informed Deepak Amin, who oversees the Beeri ATM, and he immediately contacted 112. The information was relayed to Ullal police, who rushed to the spot and arrested the accused inside the ATM.
