Mangaluru, Sep 3: The Bajpe police have arrested eight persons, including a minor boy, in connection with the rape of a minor student and circulation of the video on social media.

The arrested are Karthik, Rakesh Saldanha, Jeevan, Sandeep, Rakshith, Shravan and Suresh. The minor has been sent to a juvenile home.

The incident, which took place two months ago, came to light recently. Police said Karthik came in contact with a first PUC student on Instagram, which turned into a romantic relationship. In June, he allegedly lured the girl to a forest near Adyar Falls and raped her.

Rakesh Saldanha, a friend who was present at the spot, also raped the victim. Karthik recorded the act on his mobile phone, and the video was later circulated among his friends and went viral.

Following this, the victim lodged a complaint at Bajpe police station on August 16. Police registered a case under the POCSO Act and arrested the accused.

Now blame each other including parents. too late, worse is already done. How such deeds affect girls future and trauma to face the society.
