Mangaluru, Aug 30: Agnathon 2k25, an annual interschool and intercollegiate festival, was held at St Agnes PU College on August 30 under the theme 'Animergenz - Dare to Begin…Destined to Win'.
The theme, which embodies the spirit of excellence, highlighted the bright potential and brilliance of young minds, symbolising their journey towards a successful future.
The event was inaugurated by distinguished guests Munita Veigas Rao, an acclaimed playback singer, songwriter, vocal trainer, and music producer, and VJ Dixon, a versatile celebrity, TV anchor, model, and influencer.






























The two were escorted to the venue with a ceremonial guard of honour, adding glamour to the opening ceremony. They inspired students with their success stories, motivating them to pursue their dreams with determination and passion.
Munita, an alumna of the college, reflected on her student days, remarking on how the occasion brought back nostalgic memories. "Although we may begin with uncertainty, life is a multi-splendoured canvas waiting to be filled with the colours of perseverance, teamwork, and dedication," she said.
VJ Dixon also addressed the gathering, emphasising that success remains incomplete without passion and daring. He encouraged students to nurture their talents and use their intelligence to confidently stride towards success.
The opening session featured a prayer song and a captivating welcome dance, followed by the symbolic placement of lanterns in the Sakura Tree by the dignitaries. Riah Mendonca and Chris D’Souza compered the inaugural session, while Venitia, HoD of Chemistry, welcomed the gathering and introduced the chief guests. Neena Madhta proposed the vote of thanks.
The valedictory session was presided over by Waseem Raj, Founder of Mangalore Meri Jaan, and Raghav, Entrepreneur and Business Solutions Manager. Raj praised the participants and organisers for providing a platform for students to realise their potential.
In his closing speech, he advised the youth to strike a balance between work and recreation, and to identify their strengths while setting goals. He also encouraged students to use AI wisely as a tool, not as a master.
The session was emceed by Divisha, with P P Dieya welcoming the audience and introducing the guests, while Yashaswini rendered the vote of thanks.
The festival was supported by Dr Sr Maria Roopa AC, joint secretary of St Agnes Group of Institutions, principal Sr Norine D’Souza, vice principal Sr Janet Sequeira, along with faculty, students, and staff. Student leaders, including president Mansi Rajpurohit, vice president Sweedol Sequeira, and the PTA members, also contributed to the event’s success.
In the high school category, Carmel School won the runners-up trophy, while Mount Carmel Central School claimed the Overall Championship. At the Pre-University level, St Aloysius PU College received the runners-up Trophy, and Canara PU College emerged as the Overall Champion.
Agnathon 2k25 proved to be a remarkable celebration of youth, excellence, and the daring spirit of today’s generation. It underscored that true victory comes after months of dedication, hard work, and perseverance.
