Mumbai, Aug 29: Muniyal Uday Krishnayya Shetty, a prominent entrepreneur, contractor, and political figure — serving as president of the Muniyal Uday Krishnayya Shetty Charitable Trust, Bantara Yane Nadavara Sangha (Hebri-Ajekar division), and Udupi District Contractors’ Association, as well as a Congress candidate from Karkala Assembly constituency — made a notable pilgrimage to Mumbai, India’s financial powerhouse, to partake in the city’s grand Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations.

Starting his spiritual sojourn with a visit to the revered Shri Siddhi Vinayak Temple in Prabhadevi, Shetty sought blessings from Lord Ganapati. His journey through Mumbai’s vibrant Ganpati mandals highlighted the city’s rich cultural tapestry and devotion.

The crescendo of his pilgrimage was marked by darshan at the world-famous Lalbaugcha Raja Ganpati — hailed as Maharashtra’s richest and most celebrated Ganesh mandal, managed annually by the King’s Circle GSB Public Ganeshotsav Committee.

Accompanying Shetty were Girish R Shetty, secretary of the Bunts Sangha Mumbai, Bhaskar R Shetty, trustee of the Shri Siddhi Vinayak Ganapati Temple Trust in Dharavi, along with other esteemed dignitaries who joined in the festivities, underscoring the strong communal bonds within the diaspora.
