Bournemouth, Aug 21: AFC Bournemouth have completed the signing of Moroccan international Amine Adli from Bundesliga champions Bayer Leverkusen. The dynamic winger joins on a five-year contract and is set to link up with Andoni Iraola’s squad ahead of their upcoming Premier League clash with Wolves.

Adli, 25, arrives with an impressive resume, having played a key role in Leverkusen’s historic unbeaten domestic season in 2023–24, which saw the club clinch both the Bundesliga and the DFB-Pokal under Xabi Alonso. In that campaign, he scored nine goals across 29 appearances and emerged as the top scorer in the DFB-Pokal.

The former Toulouse star brings valuable European experience, having featured in both the UEFA Champions League and the Europa League, where he was part of the Leverkusen side that finished runners-up last season. He first rose to prominence in France, winning Ligue 2 Player of the Season in 2020–21.

“I’m very proud to play for a club like Bournemouth,” Adli said after completing his move. “When I looked at my next step, Bournemouth felt like the perfect place. The facilities, the people, the energy here—it gives me a lot of confidence. I’m happy and excited to achieve good things.”

Club President of Football Operations Tiago Pinto hailed the signing, calling Adli a “proven winner” and “a real asset to the squad.” Pinto added, “He’s entering the prime of his career and brings the ambition and experience we’re looking for. We’re thrilled to have him.”

Adli is Bournemouth’s second signing this week, following Ben Gannon-Doak’s arrival on Monday. The duo join a busy summer of additions that includes Adrien Truffert, Dorde Petrovic, Diakite, and Junior Kroupi, as the Cherries continue strengthening their squad for the season ahead.
