United States, Aug 20: Renowned municipal court judge and viral TV star Frank Caprio passed away at the age of 88 after a prolonged battle with pancreatic cancer. His death was confirmed on his official social media platforms, stating that he “passed away peacefully … after a long and courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.”
Caprio—celebrated for his empathy, warmth, and humanity—rose to international acclaim through his courtroom-based reality series Caught in Providence, which aired between 2018 and 2020 and earned multiple Daytime Emmy nominations. His unique style—marked by compassion rather than confrontation—led to viral clips amassing over a billion views across social media platforms.
In a touching final message shared from his hospital bed less than a day before his death, Caprio asked followers for their prayers and expressed gratitude for the support he had received.
