KCF Qatar marks India’s 79th Independence Day with mega blood donation & health camp

Doha, Aug 18: Karnataka Cultural Foundation (KCF) Qatar, in collaboration with Hamad Medical Corporation and American Hospital, organized a mega blood donation drive and free medical camp to mark the 79th Independence Day of India. The event, held at American Hospital, Doha, combined the spirit of national unity with a commitment to public health.

The camp witnessed an overwhelming response with 124 blood donations and over 250 beneficiaries availing free health check-ups and medical consultations. Donors and healthcare staff were presented with certificates and mementos in recognition of their contribution. Around 30 KCF volunteers supported the program, reflecting the spirit of service and solidarity.

The inaugural ceremony was presided over by Sattar Ashrafi Mata, president of KCF Qatar (Organizational Division), and inaugurated by Dr Bigesh Unnikrishnan, manager of American Hospital. Community leaders and dignitaries including Dr Basheer Puthuppadam (Former general secretary, ICF Qatar) and Saleem Malappuram (General secretary, RSC Qatar) conveyed their appreciation.

Other dignitaries present were Hafiz Umrul Farooq Sakhafi (Chairman, KCF International Committee – Education Division), Muhammad Shah Calicut (General secretary, ICF Qatar), Fakruddin Peringottukkar (Moral education secretary, ICF Qatar), and Dr Ayman (General Practitioner, American Hospital).

As a mark of recognition, American Hospital was felicitated by KCF Qatar for its remarkable contribution to healthcare services in Qatar. The programme was compered by Zakariya Samjad, secretary of KCF Qatar’s Professional Division, while Farooq Jeppu, secretary of the Organizational Division, proposed the vote of thanks.
