Mangaluru, Aug 14: The school of vocational studies at St Aloysius (Deemed to be University), Mangaluru, in association with Divine Cashew Industry, hosted a unique event that combined industry-focused learning with a healthy lifestyle movement. The programme featured a workshop on on-job training alongside the grand launch of KajuVeda, a new brand of health-oriented cashew products.

The workshop was led by Joel Madtha, COO of Divine Cashew Industry, who engaged over 150 students and guests with insights on entrepreneurship, brand building, and the evolving culture of healthy gifting. He emphasised KajuVeda’s mission, to replace sugar-filled gift boxes with nutritious alternatives that truly care for the health of loved ones.

KajuVeda, unveiled in five innovative flavours - periperi, sweet blaze, golden zing, chocolate, and classic. Aiming to revolutionise traditional gifting by making it health conscious without compromising on taste. “Love should strengthen, not weaken; care should nourish, not harm. KajuVeda stands for gifts that last beyond the moment,” Joel Madtha remarked.

The product was formally launched by Anish Correa, owner of Martin’s Restaurant, with Sunil Vijay Moras, CEO of Divine Cashew Industry, as the chief guest. A key highlight of the event was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the university and Divine Cashew Industry, formalised by Dr Praveen Martis SJ, vice chancellor and Sunil Vijay Moras. This agreement aims to strengthen long-term cooperation, offering students enhanced opportunities for internships, projects, and placements.

As part of the product launch, KajuVeda samples were distributed to all attendees, allowing them to experience the flavours first-hand. The event also featured discussions on industry expectations, practical workplace skills, and aligning products with cultural values, bridging the gap between academic learning and real-world applications.

The programme was coordinated under the leadership of Claret Pereira (director, BBA & BVOC), Sharolin Menezes (dean, school of vocational studies) and Aldrina A M (assistant dean). By combining a skills-focused workshop with a brand launch, St Aloysius University not only enhanced student industry readiness but also contributed to the sustainable development, decent work and economic growth - promoting employability, health awareness, and sustainable business practices.
