Awareness programme on cyber - crime held at Government First Grade College, Kavoor

Mangaluru, Aug 12: Today technology has advanced to a such an extent that it has become an essential part of every human being. It has contributed to the advancement of human activities and has given rise to enhanced application. At the same time using technology at every step of life has given scope for a number of cyber crimes and the public have become the victims of such crimes. In this connection an awareness programme was organised on cyber-crime by different associations of the college under the guidance of IQAC at Government First Grade College Kavoor, Mangaluru on August 11.

Revanna Siddappa, police sub-inspector, CEN crime police station and Suresh M, police constable, crime branch, Mangaluru were the resource persons.

Initially at the formal programme, Revanna Siddappa highlighted the different ways of frauds taking place in the cyber space and the precautions to be taken to safeguard against such frauds.

The resource person Suresh M, explained in detail each type of cyber crime taking place and informed the students to take all the precautions to protect themselves from such cyber crimes. He also created an awareness about financial frauds.

The formal programme was presided over by the principal, Dr Geetha M L. Shivani of III BBA compered the programme, Sanjana of III BBA welcomed the gathering and Munab of III BCom proposed a vote of thanks. Faculty members graced the occasion with their presence.
