Aamir Khan’s family responds to Faissal Khan’s allegations, calls claims misleading and hurtful

Mumbai, Aug 10: In response to serious allegations made by Faissal Khan, actor Aamir Khan's brother, the Khan family has issued a strong statement defending themselves against what they describe as a “hurtful and misleading portrayal.”

Faissal recently accused Aamir and other family members of destroying his physical, mental, and financial health, even alleging he was forcibly confined and medicated for a year at Aamir’s home, under claims of paranoid schizophrenia.

In a joint public statement, the Khan family expressed their deep distress over Faissal's comments, particularly regarding Aamir’s mother Zeenat Tahir Husain, his sister Nikhat Hegde, and Aamir himself.

“Every choice regarding Faissal has been taken collectively as a family, in consultation with multiple medical professionals, and has been based on love, compassion, and a desire to support his emotional and psychological wellbeing,” the statement read.

They clarified that they have so far avoided discussing these sensitive matters in public to protect the family’s dignity and Faissal’s privacy, but felt compelled to speak up now due to repeated misrepresentation.

The family appealed to the media to respect their privacy and not sensationalise what they describe as a deeply personal and painful chapter.

The statement was signed by multiple family members, including Reena Datta, Junaid Khan, Ira Khan, Kiran Rao, Mansoor Khan, and others, reaffirming their united front.

Faissal, who is now living independently in Mumbai following family disagreements, had claimed in a recent interview that his mother and sister filed a case declaring him dangerous to society, and that Aamir was “brainwashed” against him.

The family, however, insists that their actions were motivated solely by care and concern for Faissal’s mental health.
