Mangaluru: Farewell programme for outgoing students held at St Aloysius ITI

Mangaluru, Aug 2: The farewell programme for the outgoing students of the academic year 2023-25 and 2024-25 was held on August 2 at 10 am in the college auditorium.

The chief guest for the programme was Prakash Godwin Pinto - president, Kuwait Canara Welfare Association & Alumnus of SAITI. The guests of honour for the programme were Marudhudurai Ravichandran - branch service incharge, Jaquar Company; Sunil Kumar M N - area service incharge, Jaquar Company; Rajshekar - general manager service, Arvind Motors, Mangaluru; Vickyath Shetty - chief operating officer, Akshaya Power Systems, Mangaluru.

The programme was presided by Fr John Dsouza SJ - director, St Aloysius ITI, Mangaluru. Roshan D’Souza - principal, Alwyn Menezes - vice principal, Noel Lobo and Wilson N – training officers, conveners of the programme Naveen, Dinakar and Melwin were present.

The programme commenced with a prayer song which was led by electronic mechanic 1st year students.

Roshan D’Souza, principal extended a cordial welcome to the gathering.

Best trainee for the academic year from each trade were felicitated. The felicitation was conducted by Noel Lobo, training officer. The dedication and commitment to regular participation in college is commendable and sets a great example for others. The students who had 100% attendance throughout the academic year were felicitated. The felicitation was conducted by Wilson N, training officer. Chief guest Prakash Godwin Pinto was felicitated.

The best trainee award was given to the following students: Z Azmiya - diploma in fashion design, Manoj - plumber, Rolen Pereira - welder, Nandan K H - mechanic diesel, Preevan Dsouza - MRAC, A Akash Shetty - MMV, Manjunatha - electrician, Mahammed Riyan - EM, Mokshith A V - AC technician Batch 1, Naveena P - AC technician Batch 2, Karan T - automotive service technician.

The following students secured 100% attendance throughout the academic year: Farzana Dilshad Banu - diploma in fashion design, Franklin Lobo - MMV 1, Adil Ahmed - MRAC 1, Harshith - MRAC 1, Pavan S Rao - MRAC 1, Sheikh Mohammed Aahil - EM 1, Avin Apos - MMV 2, Viraj - MMV 2.

Chief guest Prakash Godwin Pinto addressed the gathering by saying, “I was a student in the first batch of this institution. My hard work inspired me to become self-employed. The patience, discipline, and values I gained here shaped my path. Students can use the education received here to build a better society.” He wished students good luck for their future.

The graduating students were honoured by the shawl and the certificate. During the academic year training was given to the plumber students by the Jaquar Company and also the tool kit was distributed to the plumber students during the programme.

The following students Viraj Shetty - mechanic motor vehicle, Navyalaxmi - electronics mechanic, Z Azmiya - fashion design, Shashank - mechanic diesel, Benjamin Ankith Vegas - mechanic refrigeration and air conditioning, Nickson - AC technician batch 1, Naveena - AC technician batch 2, Shashank - mechanic diesel, Karan - automotive technician spoke a few words along on behalf of the graduating students and thanked the institution for providing the best training and ample opportunities for the development of students.

A dance was performed by electronics mechanic 1st year, fashion design 1st year and MRAC 1st year students.
Staff members dedicated a farewell song to the graduating students.

Guest Rajashekar said, “Success is achieved through hard work. After 28 years of dedication, I now serve as the General Manager of my company. Always respect your teachers and make use of the job opportunities available in the Mangaluru region.” He wished the students well.

Vickyath Shetty also conveyed his best wishes.

In his presidential address, “Students trained at this institution are capable of working anywhere in the world. I wish to share three thoughts: First, reflect on your background before coming here. Second, cherish the training you received. Third, prepare for a good job or higher studies. Never forget this institution, and return whenever possible. Dream new dreams and help poor students studying here once you are employed.”

Naveen, convener of the programme proposed the vote of thanks.

A dance was performed by staff and students.

The programme was compered by Rivan, student of electrician 1st year and Debora Christina, student of fashion design 1st year.
