Jerusalem, Jul 25: Tensions flared in the Middle East diplomatic landscape on Thursday after Israel strongly condemned France’s official recognition of the State of Palestine. Israeli Deputy Prime Minister and Justice Minister Yariv Levin described the move as “a black mark on French history” and accused France of extending “direct aid to terrorism.”

Levin lashed out at the French government’s decision, calling it “shameful,” and said it signaled a tipping point. “It is now time to apply Israeli sovereignty to the West Bank,” he declared, referencing the territory that has been under Israeli occupation since 1967.

France’s recognition marks a significant policy shift and aligns it with a growing number of countries formally acknowledging Palestinian statehood.
