Mangaluru: St Aloysius University holds Deeksharambh for inaugural batch of law students

Mangaluru, Jul 22: St Aloysius (Deemed to be University) held student induction programme ‘Deeksharambh’ for the very first batch of law students on July 21 in Sanidhya Hall.

Dr Praveen Martis SJ, vice chancellor of St Aloysius University, Dr Alwyn D’Sa, registrar of the college, Dr Ronald Nazareth, registrar of the university, Claret Vinaya Pereira, director of BBA and BVoc courses, and Dr Udayakrishna, the dean, the School of Law were present on the dais.

Dr Praveen Martis in his address encouraged the Law students through his inspirational words. The law studies, social work and media studies are necessary for an institution to uphold its academic caliber. He urged the students to learn and live for the society and transform the society into a better place for living. He recalled the top great luminaries who contributed to the society who studied in this great institution.

Dr Alwyn D’Sa in his speech briefed about the system of learning at St Aloysius University. He suggested the students to make the best use of the opportunities and give their best. He urged the students to become the change-makers in transforming the society through legal advocacies.

Dr Ronald Nazareth in his speech congratulated the students for choosing the noble profession. He briefed about the relative perspectives of the law courses and its academic engagements.

Explaining the institutional policies, Clarer Vinaya Pereira briefed about the Law courses and the vision, mission of the programme and the motto of the institution. She also boosted the morale of the students through her words of encouragement.

Sr Rekha Lobo, professor of Law, read out the Preamble of India.

Dr Rayan Fernandes compered the programme. Dr Udayakrishna welcomed the gathering. Fr Prashanth proposed the vote of thanks.
