Dubai, Jul 18: In a key administrative reshuffle, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister of the UAE, and Ruler of Dubai, has issued Decree No. (34) of 2025, appointing Lieutenant General Rashid Thani Al Matrooshi as the Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Civil Defence.

Additionally, through Decision No. (26) of 2025, Major General Jamal bin Aded Al Muhairi has been named Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the same force. Both decisions come into effect immediately upon issuance and will be formally published in the Official Gazette, officials confirmed.

In a related development, Sheikh Mohammed also sanctioned a massive promotion of 6,247 personnel across various security and law enforcement departments in Dubai. The promotions span the State Security Department, Dubai Police, the General Directorate of Identity and Foreigners Affairs, and the General Directorate of Dubai Civil Defence.

The move is seen as part of a broader strategy to enhance public safety and security infrastructure in the emirate and to recognize the contributions of personnel who have served diligently in ensuring the city’s stability and safety.
