Ravi Teja's father Rajagopal Raju passes away at 90

Hyderabad, Jul 16: Rajagopal Raju, father of popular Telugu actor Ravi Teja, passed away on Tuesday night due to age-related ailments. He was 90.

The nonagenarian breathed his last at Ravi Teja’s residence in Hyderabad, where he had been staying while battling health issues. He is survived by his wife Rajya Lakshmi and sons Ravi Teja and Raghu Raju.

Condolences poured in from the Telugu film industry and fans. Megastar Chiranjeevi mourned the loss, recalling his last meeting with Raju on the sets of Waltair Veerayya. "I extend my heartfelt condolences to Ravi Teja and family. May his soul rest in peace," he said.

The news comes on the same day actor Naveen Chandra announced that dubbing had begun for Ravi Teja’s upcoming film Mass Jathara, calling it a "loud, raw, and rooted" film. Directed by Bhanu Bogavarapu and produced by Sithara Entertainments, the movie is set to release on August 27, 2025.

Ravi Teja is also working on another much-anticipated project, RT76, a family entertainer directed by Kishore Tirumala and produced by Sudhakar Cherukuri under the SLV Cinemas banner. It is scheduled for a Sankranthi 2026 release.
