India’s retaliatory strike precise, no damage on our side: NSA Doval

Chennai, Jul 11: National Security Adviser Ajit Doval on Friday strongly criticised international media, particularly The New York Times, for its reportage on Operation Sindoor — India’s powerful retaliatory strike against Pakistan following the Pahalgam terror attack.

Speaking at the 62nd Convocation of IIT Madras, Doval dared foreign outlets to show “even one image” of damage caused on the Indian side. “They wrote that Pakistan did this and that. You tell me one photograph, one image, which shows any damage to any Indian structure, even a glass pane broken,” he said.

He specifically pointed to The New York Times coverage and added, “They wrote things, but their own images showed 13 Pakistani air bases before and after May 10 — in Sargodha, Rahim Yar Khan, Chaklala…”

Lauding India's indigenous capabilities, Doval praised the execution of Operation Sindoor, which was launched on May 7 after a Pakistan-backed terror strike in Pahalgam claimed 26 lives. “We decided to strike nine terrorist targets deep inside Pakistan, not near the borders. We missed none. The operation took just 23 minutes,” he said.

The Indian Air Force’s precision strikes hit key terror hubs, including the Jaish-e-Mohammad headquarters in Bahawalpur and Lashkar-e-Taiba’s base in Muridke. Pakistan's counterattack using drones and missiles was effectively neutralised by India's air defence systems.

The escalation culminated in a decisive strike on 11 Pakistani air bases, marking one of the boldest cross-border operations in recent years.
