Missile from Yemen intercepted by Israeli military

Daijiworld Media Network – Jerusalem

Jerusalem, Jul 6: The Israeli military on Sunday confirmed that it had successfully intercepted a missile launched from Yemen toward Israeli territory.

Air raid sirens were activated in several regions as a precautionary measure, following established protocol, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said in a statement.

In response to the repeated missile threats, Israel has warned Yemen’s Iran-backed Houthi movement of a possible naval and air blockade if attacks continue in the name of solidarity with Gaza.

Since the onset of the Israel-Hamas war in October 2023, the Houthis have targeted Israel and international shipping lanes in the Red Sea, severely affecting global trade. While most of their missile and drone assaults have been intercepted or failed to reach their target, Israel has retaliated with a series of strikes against the group.
