Hyderabad, Jul 2: Telugu megastar Chiranjeevi’s much-awaited fantasy drama Vishwambhara continues to face delays, leaving fans disappointed as the film remains without a confirmed release date even after two years of production.

Directed by Vassishta, who made a striking debut with Bimbisara, the film has reportedly been slowed down due to massive post-production work. Rumours had earlier hinted at incomplete shooting and pending OTT deals, but the director has now clarified the real reason behind the delay.

In an interview with Gulte, Vassishta revealed, “There are close to 4,800 VFX shots in Vishwambhara, and multiple companies are working round the clock to deliver top-tier graphics. This is the first time a Telugu film is undergoing such extensive VFX work, and it’s the major reason for the delay.”

He added that the team is committed to delivering a visually stunning cinematic experience. Vishwambhara stars Chiranjeevi alongside Trisha Krishnan and features music by Oscar-winning composer MM Keeravani.

The delay has also sparked speculation that Chiranjeevi was upset after the film’s teaser faced online trolling, allegedly leading him to order a complete revamp of the visual effects. However, Vassishta firmly denied these rumours, stressing that the extensive graphics work was always part of the plan.

Meanwhile, Chiranjeevi has begun work on another film directed by Anil Ravipudi, which is likely to release before Vishwambhara. Fans now eagerly await updates on both projects as the star juggles multiple ventures.
