Catholic Sabha Derebail Unit celebrates Silver Jubilee and felicitation of Dr Sudheendra Rao

Mangaluru, Jun 30: Catholic Sabha Mangalore Pradesh, Derebail unit celebrated its closing ceremony of Silver Jubilee function on June 28 at the Most Holy Redeemer Church, Derebail.

The Eucharistic celebration was held with Fr Joseph Martis as the main celebrant. He was accompanied by the assistant parish priest Fr Nelson Peris and Fr Kevin D’ Souza.

In the evening the formal function commenced at the Derebail chuch Golden Jubilee Hall. Nelson Castelino, president of Catholic Sabha Mangalore Pradesh Derebail unit occupied the seat on the dias. Fr Joseph Martis, parish priest and spiritual director catholic Sabha, Derebail unit inaugurated the function.

Chief guest city varado vicar var, parish priest of Vamanjoor parish Fr James D’Souza, Catholic Sabha Mangalore Pradesh central president Santhosh D’Souza , city varado spiritual director Fr Fredrick Monteiro, president of Catholic Sabha city varado as well as general secretary of Catholic Sabha central committee Vilma Monteiro, guests of honor: founder of Catholic Sabha Derebail unit spiritual director Dr Mark Castelino, Asst parish priest Fr Nelson peris, parish pastoral council vice president Sheela D’Souza, parish pastoral council secretary Denzil Pinto, Derebail parish 21 commission coordinator Anil Patrao, Catholic Sabha Derebail unit secretary Shaila Noronha, Silver Jubilee convener Victor Corea, Fr Kevin D’Souza occupied the seats on the dias.

To mark the Silver Jubilee, occasion a Souvenir (Rupyalin Laaaran) was released by the president of Catholic Sabha City deanery, general secretary of Catholic Sabha central committee Vilma Monteiro.

The presidents, secretaries who held the positions for the last 25 years were felicitated and honored with a bouquet and memento.

The members who were the driving force right from its inception were felicitated with a bouquet and mementos. The spiritual director was also honored. President of catholic Sabha, Derebail unit Nelson Castelino welcomed the gathering, secretary Shaila Noronha presented the report, coordinator Victor Corea delivered the vote of thanks. The chief guest addressed an August gathering.

Meanwhile a local soctor Sudheendra Rao, who has worked relentlessly to improve health and wellbeing, was also felicitated. He runs the clinic at Akashbhavan and also has won the hearts of many local patients.

The Catholic Sabha Derebail unit honored the first PHD holder in Konkani language Prem Moras, Also Simon and Pressy Pereira were honored for their selfless service. Catholic Sabha past president and treasurer for the past 15 years, John Concesso too was honored for his selfless service.

Catholic Sabha Derebail Unit honored Vilma Monteiro for taking various positions in the unit and for emerging victorious as the president of Catholic Sabha city deanery and general secretary of Catholic Sabha Central committee ,a feather in the cap for the Catholic Sabha Derebail unit.

A cultural programme was presented by the members of the catholic Sabha. About 400 people attended the event and were treated with a sumptuous dinner.
