Tel Aviv, Jun 25: In a strong and defiant message amid the ongoing conflict in the Middle East, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Tuesday proclaimed what he termed a "historic victory" for Israel — one that, he said, would resonate for generations to come.

In a video statement released by the Prime Minister’s Office, Netanyahu acknowledged the significance of the recent military and diplomatic developments but emphasized that the mission was far from over.

“We have achieved a historic win, but our campaign must continue — we will dismantle the Iran axis, defeat Hamas, and ensure the return of all our hostages in Gaza,” he asserted.

Netanyahu also took the opportunity to extend praise to former U.S. President Donald Trump, calling him “Israel’s greatest friend ever in the White House.” The statement comes on the heels of a ceasefire agreement that saw momentary restraint in the intensifying Iran-Israel conflict, only to be followed by renewed hostilities shortly after.

The Israeli PM’s remarks come amid international calls for restraint and diplomacy, as tensions in the region remain high following Iran’s retaliatory missile strikes and Israel’s limited air offensives, including a reported radar strike near Tehran.

With military operations ongoing and the humanitarian situation worsening in Gaza, Netanyahu's remarks underline Israel's firm stance in continuing its strategic campaign against what it calls the “Iran-led terror axis” in the region.
