Sullia: Herd of gaurs spotted near Mavinakatte causes panic

Sullia, June 23: Panic spread among residents after a herd of gaurs (Indian bison) was sighted near Mavinakatte in Devachalla village of Sullia taluk during the night.

The sighting took place a few days ago around midnight, when a group of gaurs was seen on the main road near the Devachalla gram panchayat.

Ujwal and others who were passing by encountered the herd, which created a tense situation and raised safety concerns in the locality.

Locals are urging the forest department to take necessary steps to prevent such wild animal movement near residential areas.
